Absolute beginners guide to vaping! (Beginners 101 guide)
What is vaping?
Vaping is the act of inhaling vapour produced from an electronic cigarette (e-cig) or vaporizer (vape). This may seem very daunting for beginners, before we go any deeper let’s talk about some common vaping terms.
Electronic cigarette (e-cig) or vaporiser (vape): A handheld electronic device that heats nicotine or non-nicotine-based liquid into vapour. It consists of two general components the mod (device) and tank. Some devices require external batteries while others have internal ones.
Mod: A term used to describe the part of the e-cig that holds the battery and delivers power to the coil.
E-liquid/e-juice: This is the liquid that goes inside the vaporiser or e-cig to produce the vapour. It generally consists of glycerine, propylene glycol which are common food additives, water and flavourings. Some e-liquid may contain nicotine.
Coil/atomiser: The part of the vape that heats up the e-liquid to produce vapour. This needs to be changed after a certain amount of uses.
Don’t worry these terms will seem like quantum physics at first, however after a few weeks they will become second nature.
How does it work?
E-liquid/e-juice is dripped into a tank, when you press the button, the battery is activated and sends electricity to the coil/atomiser. The coil consists of a metal wire wrapped around cotton which becomes saturated as you fill the tank. The electricity heats up the metal wire, which turns the liquid into vapour.
How doI get started?
First off you will need a vapouriser or e-cigarette, there are many devices in the market.
To keep things simple, we recommend beginners pick up a starter kit from us, as they contain all the necessary components (mod, batteries, charging cable, coils, tank). We offer a range of starter kits from international recognised brands such as Innokin, Vaporesso, Tesla, Wotofo, Eleafand are always expanding this list. We recommend the InnokinJEMandT18 as they are both easy to use devices with a single firing button, which eliminates the possibility of the coil burning by messing with the wattage settings.
